Café In Gamba stands out as one of the best third-wave coffee shops in the city, favored not only for its exceptional brews but also for its inviting atmosphere. Patrons rave about the delightful 49th Parallel Old School Espresso roast, a must-try for any coffee aficionado. The rich, smooth flavors perfectly complement the café’s array of exquisite pastries, including locally crafted Hof Kelsten croissants and delectable cookies.

For those looking for a full-fledged meal, the Trio option combines a sandwich, soup or salad, and a drink for just CA$16.75. The soup of the day and the refreshing Asian salad made with sesame vinaigrette and marinated tofu are delightful choices to pair with your meal.
A frequent visitor, Alia, appreciates the creative atmosphere at the St-Viateur location, noting it has a more spacious and pleasant indoor environment compared to its Parc counterpart. The outdoor seating is an added bonus during the warmer months, making it an ideal spot for enjoying your favorite brew while soaking in the vibrant neighborhood.
The feedback from patrons speaks volumes about the café’s warm service. Baristas are not only skilled but also make you feel right at home. Sara praised the matcha, declaring it the best in Montreal, while Alana expressed delight in how her latte was crafted to perfection by an attentive and stylish barista. Such experiences contribute to the café's charm and community-focused spirit.
Café In Gamba Saint-Viateur isn’t merely a coffee shop; it’s a community hub where delicious food meets great coffee, and where the service is as warm as the atmosphere. Whether you are a local or just passing through, this café promises an experience that will leave you wanting to return time and again. “ One of the best cafes in Montreal. Delicious coffee and friendly staff in a beautiful busy cafe with outdoor seating in the back. ”
“ I visited this location of Caffe in Gamba today and it was excellent, as is the Parc location which I have been to many times. IMO this is one of the best third wave coffeeshops in Montreal and my go-to in Mile End. I enjoy a cortado or flat white and they are always smooth and consistent (my fav is the 49th Parallel Old School Espresso roast). They carry nice pastries (croissants, cookies) made locally, and some light lunch options. The St-Viateur location does have a nicer and less cramped indoor seating space and more pleasant atmosphere than Parc and a lovely patio for the summer season, but can also be pretty crowded due to being near Ubisoft. ”
“ Definitely the best matcha I had in Montreal. The place has a great atmosphere. ”
“ Beautiful place, feels warm and homey, coffee is world class, as expected from the masters at caffe in gamba. Hof Kelsten croissants are a perfect match for the great coffee, congrats Dominic and Simon Pierre, you have a winner! ”
“ I got a coffee here yesterday (usually I go to the Parc location) but I was so pleasantly surprised with how NICE the staff is here! The barista with the buzz cut made me one of the best lattes I’ve ever had and also had a cool fit on. Definitely will be going back! ”
“ Great cafe to work quietly in or read a book. It’s very cosy with lots of different seating areas (despite the small size of the cafe). The service is friendly and quick, and my cortado was delicious! They only had one vegan pastry available but it was good as well! There are more options such as gluten sensitive and they have plant based beverages as well for the coffee. ”
“ One of my favorite coffee places in Montreal. Friendly chilled great coffees to also amazing beans selection. But enjoyed our chats the best. ”
“ I'm surprised I didn't leave a review sooner. With Structure Downtown, this is my second or first ex æquo favorite coffee place. Their flat white with oat milk is always perfectly balanced, the service super friendly, and the patio at the back highly recommended to enjoy your drink with or without pastry :) ”
